“My research centered on developmental changes of the early-age brain in mental diseases. I gained valuable insights into how the brain develops and matures, using many cutting-edge technologies in my research. I also spent many hours of those years teaching undergraduate and graduate university students, developing a passion for witnessing students learn new knowledge and skills, and succeed at their goals”, says Dr. Frankie Lee, newest STEM For Kids franchisee in Toronto, Canada.

During Dr Lee’s journey, he noticed how sensitive the brains of children are to external stimuli. His thorough research allowed him to analyze the early stages of  young minds. Dr. Lee was sure he wanted to make impact in the next generation in a huge way, so he sought after another opportunity.

“The early-age brain indeed shows the highest capacity for learning and memory with greater plasticity (ability to change) and the least amount of effort required proportionately. I realized it could be immensely satisfying to work with the next generation of researchers and innovators at an even earlier stage – what better way to encourage young minds into a field I am passionate about myself!”

After two decades, Dr. Lee noticed a rise in the growth of STEM jobs. He believes STEM fields will provide a great amount of opportunities in the future for young minds. His vision for the next generation is coming to life before his very eyes and he is excited about what is next to come.
