“STEM For Kids is a perfect fit. I can play and have fun not only with my son but other kids as well. Not much fun being a kid if you can’t have fun while learning and playing”, says Sean Pickett who, together with his loving wife Alison Pickett, is bringing STEM For Kids to the South Wasatch Area in Utah.
A kid at heart, Sean loves to play and have fun. Previously as a General Manager in the food, hotel and retail industry, Sean had the opportunity to meet and coach some of the most amazing people in diverse environments. Corporations like HoneyBaked Ham, Crackel Barrel and Wyndham Hotel have benefited from Sean’s strong leadership and people skills.
Alison is a Human Resource Professional. For over 25 years, she has dedicated herself to helping leaders create meaning in their own lives and in their organizations, which results in motivated employees. She loves to see people self-reflect and discover new and exciting things about themselves.
With her passion for learning and development, and a focus on technology, STEM children’s educational franchise was a natural next step.
“Being in a position to help children develop valuable skills, confidence, and self-worth are especially exciting”, Alison remarked.
The couple took a major decision a few years back. At the age of 45, with support from Alison, Sean quit working to complete his degree in Business Management while spending time with their 5-year-old son, Cole.
“Being a stay at home dad was a life changer and brought the realization about my passion for coaching. Sharing the energy and excitement with Cole everyday led me towards STEM”, says Sean.
“Kids are our future. You don’t see a lot of programs that are as versatile as STEM to develop kids”, Sean says excitedly as he thinks ahead to the full serving of STEM he and Alison plan to offer to the children of South Wasatch.
“Alison and Sean know what it takes to develop talent. They have been doing it their entire professional lives. Greater Salt Lake City is about to witness their remarkable efforts in enriching the lives of its children through STEM For Kids”, remarked Moni Singh, the Creator of STEM For Kids.
