Dave Moore

Dave has had a long career in management that includes founding several startups and holding General Management positions in the US and internationally. For the last 18 years he has been involved in introducing the use of new technologies in K12 education. He is a graduate of Stanford Graduate School of Business and University of California Berkeley. He has been an active volunteer in non-profits for many years and a SCORE mentor since 2010.

Harvey Smalheiser

Harvey is a financial executive who spent his career in senior management positions with Fortune 500 Companies and international CPA firms focused on corporate taxation, strategy, M&A and financial management. He also served on the Board of Directors of numerous small to medium sized not for profit enterprises lending his business experience to assist these organizations in getting started and in growing. He has also worked with numerous startups. Harvey is a CPA (NJ) and a member of the Bar (NY). He has been a resident of the Raleigh area since 2010 and a SCORE volunteer since early 2012.

Tom Hyatt

Tom, an accomplished network engineer and a self-proclaimed ‘IT Geek’, began his education with an intent to pursue a business career. He double majored in business and computer information management. In his 30 years of professional career, Tom has worked in a broad range of IT roles including Network & Systems Administration, Tier 3 Support, Systems Engineering, and Software Configuration Management Architecture. Today, his work involves Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). AI / ML are ubiquitous now, used to recommend what you should buy next online, to understand what you say to virtual assistants such as Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri, to recognize who and what is in a photo, to spot spam, or detect credit card fraud.

Dr. Misha Chakraborty, aka Dr. C

Dr. C is a lecturer in the College of Technology department at the University of Houston. She teaches her students how to use the latest technology in education and how to do educational research and training using sophisticated technological tools. Dr C got first-hand experience with designing and developing many online classes as a technology teaching assistant in the department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development. Her close encounters with students’ participation, issues and strengths in online classes got her interested in the area of online engagement to look for strategies to create positive learning experiences for virtual learners. As a researcher at Texas A&M University, Dr. C focused on determining factors involved in achieving positive learning environment for all students.

Hannah Stokes

Hannah Stokes is currently a senior in Biomedical Engineering at the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering - NCSU/UNC-CH. She is a teaching assistant for Dr. Hatice Orun Ozturk in the Biomedical Engineering Department, teaching linear systems. Hannah is also an undergraduate researcher in the Intelligent Structure and Systems Lab where she uses novel actuator architecture to model human biomechanics to improve rehabilitation processes. Hannah is a head coach at CrossFit Invoke where she recognizes faults, implement scaling, manage time, motivate and inspire athletes and command the attention of a large group. She is a Division 1 Student Track and Field athlete at NCSU where she has the privilege of representing her school in many different lights.

Gaurav Sangal

Gaurav has an extensive background in engineering and technology with a Masters in Electrical Engineering & an MBA.
He has spent over 13 years working in STEM; many of those years in public safety communications. He understands what it takes to make and market mission critical systems to meet the communication needs of public safety and first responders.
