What is STEM?

Why our kids must learn to Code.

Learn To Code, Code To Learn..

How programming prepares kids for more than math.....

“Learning to write programs stretches your mind, and helps you think better, creates a way of thinking about things that I think is helpful in all domains.“ - Bill Gates Chairman, Microsoft

"Everybody in this country should learn to program a computer because it teaches you how to think" -Steve Jobs

STEM Robotics / Coding

Robotics is increasingly being considered as the fourth “R” of learning, “Reading, wRriting and aRithmatic” that modern-day students must understand to succeed in a highly competitive, technology-driven world. Robotics integrates all STEM fields in a way no other subject can cover. Robotics is the mother of all subjects. It integrates mechanical, electrical, electronics, control engineering, computer science, technology, math, and science.

You will discover breakthrough technologies in Robotics. Immerse yourself in the most forward-looking discipline of our time. Makes learning fun, engaging, and inspiring. Provides highly practical hands-on experience. Gives a head-start in preparing for high school and college. Develops critical thinking skills and problem-solving strategies. Enables the learner to develop and express creativity.

Technology and Engineering

We teach technology in a fun and engaging way to inspire the engineers of tomorrow.  The world needs engineers and cultivating an interest in technology and engineering at an early age can help bridge the growing gap. We provide opportunities for our kids to understand how the machines and mechanisms behind everyday objects work and it is so great to see them saying “wow! So that’s how its works.”

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math: Education for Global Leadership

The United States has developed as a global leader, in large part, through the genius and hard work of its scientists, engineers, and innovators. In a world that’s becoming increasingly complex, where success is driven not only by what you know, but by what you can do with what you know, it’s more important than ever for our youth to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information. These are the types of skills that students learn by studying science, technology, engineering, and math—subjects collectively known as STEM.

Projected Percentage Increases In STEM Jobs from 2010 to 2020 14 for all occupations 16 for Mathematics 22 for Computer Systems Analysts 32 for Systems Software Developers 36 for Medical Scientists 62 for Biomedical Engineers

All young people should be prepared to think deeply and to think well so that they have the chance to become the innovators, educators, researchers, and leaders who can solve the most pressing challenges facing our nation and our world, both today and tomorrow. But, right now, not enough of our youth have access to quality STEM learning opportunities and too few students see these disciplines as springboards for their careers

Available Programs

For Schools

STEM for Kids provides a number of after-school programs designed for Elementary School Students.

The programs available focus on the core STEM subjects and are designed to educate children in a fun and interactive way. STEM for Kids programs enriches and support learning in school.

A key focus of our work is in the promotion of the four C’s:

  • Communication: Developing the skills to get your meaning across and to effectively listen to others
  • Collaboration: Working with others and performing better as a team or in pairs
  • Critical Thinking: Developing the ability to look at things differently and see ways of improving on what has been done before
  • Creativity: Using imagination to generate innovative and original ideas

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

The STEM for Kids after-school program can be customized for each school to help drive consistency and continuous learning.

Select from Classic Engineering, Computer Programming, and Robotics.

We are currently partnering with school for programs launching in September 2016.  For more information, please complete the form on this page.

IN-SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS

In addition to our after-school programs, we also offer In-School Field Trips and flexible programs that can be customized for every school.

In-school field trips are where we bring the STEM experience to you! Now you can have hands-on STEM workshops, projects, and investigation with your students, at your location, during the school day. STEM workshops are designed and offered for specific grades and levels. Students extend their learning of science and math.

Educators, the curricula can also help you discover your inner child, have fun, and learn some new skills.

The in-school trips allow you to run on-site STEM programs without the hassle of managing students’ registrations or long arduous bus journeys. We bring the instructors, lots of energy, and the materials, including computers and robots, to your site.
